One thing that will never change is that everyone needs to eat. Another immutable truth is that humans belong on planet Earth and are as natural a part of the ecosystem as a tree, a sparrow, a fungus, or the very soil and water upon which we exist. Victory Gardens Coaching is my way to contribute to the improvement of society by sharing my knowledge of plants and how they can feed us, shelter us, heal us, and uplift us. I believe that every human can keep some sort of garden, regardless of size, and that by keeping that garden it can help that person in more ways than they first could anticipate.

One critical part of society that could benefit the most from keeping a garden is always the youngest generation. So many things can be learned by gardening that can't easily be learned together in many other ways. This video by the host of The Survival Podcast, Jack Spirko, shows how children can learn seven different life attributes just by planting and tending a garden.

For a few morsels of knowledge on the history of the Victory Gardens from the World War years, see the article here that I have written about it.

The original concept of a Victory Garden came during World War One and was called a war garden or my favorite, a liberty garden. The concept then and during World War Two was to provide food for the general population so that commercial farms could send more produce to the allied soldiers and famished citizens in Europe. The primary purpose was to provide food to help gain in the wars.
